SAMUEL
JONES

Samuel Jones, a prosperous farmer of near Redfort
[Radford!], died Sunday evening at 7:30 o'clock. Mr.
Jones was born in Macon county, July 20, 1854. He
was 58 years old. He leaves a widow and ten
children: Frank Jones of Assumption, Mrs. Charles
Prather of Moweaqua, Mrs. Elmer Armstrong of Oakley,
Clarence Jones of Tower Hill, Mrs. Earl Hoyt of Lintner,
Melvin Jones of Moweaqua, and Misses Pearl, Treold
[Farol!], [and] Leona, and [Mr.] Lee Jones, who live at
home.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 o団lock Tuesday
morning in the Oakley church. Burial will be in the
French cemetery north of Oakley.

Well Known and Respected Woman Victim of
Complications

Decatur relatives of Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Jones of
Assumption received word Sunday of her death which took
place at 11:20 o団lock Saturday evening at her home.
Death was due to a complication of diseases. She was
fifty-four years old and was widely known and respected in
Assumption.
She leaves ten children: Frank Jones of Assumption,
Mrs. Charles Prather of Williamsport, Ind., Mrs. Elmer
Armstrong of Decatur, Clarence Jones of Assumption, Mrs.
Earl Hoyt of Decatur, Melvin Jones of Hillman, Mich., Lee
Jones of Assumption and Farol, Leona and Pearl at
home. Besides her children she leaves a sister, Mrs.
G. T. Sheets of Oakly, a brother, James Shepherd of
Sangamon, and a half brother, Jacob Lines of Cerro
Gordo. She also leaves twenty-one grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 o団lock at the U.
B. church in Oakley.
