SARE—At the residence, No. 3603 National avenue, this
city, Jan. 2, 1920, Ella May Sare, wife of Harvey R. Sare,
mother of Thomas, Thelma, Robert and Lucille Sare of
Hotchkiss, Colo., daughter of John I. Martin, sister of
Mrs. L. E. Stephens and E. R. Martin of San Diego, Charles
and John Martin of Barrodo [sic.], Neb., and Joseph Martin
of Noel [sic.], Colo.; a native of Nebraska, aged 29
years, 2 months, 5 days.
Friends are invited to attend the
funeral services at the chapel of Johnson-Saum company,
Fourth and Ash sts. at 4:00 o’clock p. m. today (Monday),
Rev. Arthur E. Schultz officiating. Interment at
Hotchkiss, Colo.

OBITUARY
Ellen A. [sic.] Martin was born in
Valley Falls [sic.] Nebraska, in 1881, died at San Diego
California, January 2, 1920.
With her parents she came to the
North Fork Valley in 1889 and settled near Paonia, where
in the year 1900 she was married to Harvey R. Sayre
[sic.], to which four children were born, which with their
father survive her: Thomas, Thelma, Robert and
Lucille. Her remains were brought here and buried at
the Hotchkiss cemetery last Sunday, the funeral services
being conducted by Rev. Flynn. The sorrowing family
have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends in their
great bereavement.

Harvey
Sare
HOTCHKISS — Funeral services will be
held here Monday for Harvey Sare, 90, a long-time resident
of Delta County. The Rev. Paul Shields will
officiate at 2 p.m. rites in Taylor’s Mortuary
chapel. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Sare died Thursday in the
Schwarz Nursing Home. In his active years, he was
engaged in the hardware business.
He was born Nov. 28, 1870, at
Fall City, Neb., and came to Colorado in 1898. He
was married June 10, 1900, at Paonia to the former Ella
May Martin. Mrs. Sare died some years ago. He
was a member of the IOOF Lodge in Paonia.
Surviving are two sons, Tommy of
Salt Lake City, and Robert of California; two daughters,
Mrs. Thelma Poynter of Greeley and Mrs. Lucille Allen of
Hotchkiss; a brother, Charles of California; seven
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

HOTCHKISS — Final rites for Harvey
Robert Sare, Hotchkiss-Paonia area resident since 1898,
were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Taylor Funeral
chapel with the Rev. Paul Shields officiating.
Sare died Friday morning at the
Schwarz Nursing home at Delta. He was 89, and had
been in failing health for some time. Burial was at
Riverside cemetery at Hotchkiss.
Sare was born Nov. 28, 1870, at
Falls City, Neb. His parents were Thomas Matthew and
Sallie Emma Powell Sare. He was married at Paonia,
June 10, 1900, to Ella May Martin. She preceded him
in death many years ago.
Sare was a retired hardware
merchant, having operated an hardware store at Hotchkiss
for about 23 years. He was a member of the IOOF
lodge at Paonia.
Survivors include two sons, Tommy
Sare of Salt Lake City and Robert Sare of California; two
daughters, Mrs. Thelma Poynter of Greeley and Mrs. Lucille
Allen of Hotchkiss; a brother, Charles Sare of California,
seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
